Dato’ Dr Jegatheesan is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist. He brings with him 28 years of medical experience, serving in several Armed Forces Hospital and retired in the Armed Forces Hospital, Royal Malaysian Navy Base, Lumut, Perak. He was an integral part of the disaster relief missions to Aceh, Pakistan and Jogjakarta. He was also the anaesthesiologist at world class sporting events – Formula 1 Grand Prix, World Motorcycle Grand Prix and Commonwealth Games '98.
Dato’ Dr Jegatheesan has written two articles – the first entitled "The Challenges of Integrating with an International Humanitarian Relief Effort for the Tsunami Disaster in Acheh, Indonesia" was published in the Malaysian Military Medicine 2005 and the other entitled "Challenges and lesson learned in disaster medicine: The Malaysian experience" was published in the International Review of the Armed Forces Medical Services, Official Journal of the International Committee of Military Medicine, dated March 2010. These articles clearly illustrate his passion in humanitarian and disaster medicine.
